Annual Catholic Appeal 2007 • Diocese of Tucson

Jesus Christ is our way, our truth,
and our light

He strengthens us and walks with us through life's challenges, encouraging us to show care and concern for those who live in darkness with little hope.

It is His mission that we receive at Baptism, when from the Pascal Candle a light is struck and we are told: "Receive the Light of Christ!" Through Baptism, we become responsible for spreading His Light.
This year's Annual Catholic Appeal theme is "Light the Way," a reminder that we help to light the way for others by spreading the Light of Christ.

It is our support of the Annual Catholic Appeal that enables 26 uniquely Catholic charities and ministries to shine the Light of Christ into the lives of thousands of people in our Diocese, including:
. 962 RCIA candidates participated in formation this past year.
. 13 seminarians preparing to serve our Diocese as priests.
. 50 retired priests in our Diocese are receiving financial support.
. 3,343 of young persons receiving Confirmation.
. 26 candidates preparing to serve as deacons.
. 24 candidates studying to become Lay Ministry leaders.
. 9,014 children and teens in parish religious education programs.
